Presented in partnership with PICA, Conduit is please to host Photo by Antoine Tempethis open showing of work developed in residence at Caldera Arts in Sisters, Oregon by choeographer Reggie Wilson and his collaborator, Andreya Ouamba from the Congo.

During their Choreography Development and Production Residency, the two are examining the influence of Central African culture on world performance forms and investigating the metaphoric, historic and real world parallels of the Mississippi and Congo rivers and their cultures. The Good Dance will premiere at the Minneapolis Walker Art Center in late 2009.

The work of Reggie Wilson and Fist and Heel Performance Group draws from the movement languages of the blues, slave and spiritual cultures of Africans in the Americas, combining them with post-modern elements and his own personal movement style to create what he calls "post-African/Neo-HooDoo Modern dances."
